What's more important? Intensity or consistency?

Both you say?  Well, my experience and best results have been from consistency initially.  Intensity is also a secondary quality.  Unless you have a regular routine several days each week on an on going basis, there is no progress.  And on the other hand if you are just going through the motions and not upping the ante each and every workout, then no progress is made.

Each journey starts with the first step.  I know, an old cliche but it applies here.  Step meaning you have to move forward and first meaning that this is one of many to follow.  It all sounds too simple and maybe it is and that is why it is so difficult.  So take that first step with the knowledge and desire to keep moving forward and consistently towards a goal:  such as running your first 5k, losing 10 pounds, lifting more weight, increase the number of strict pull-ups etc.

Don't let anything stop you from moving on.  There are days when it is not possible to get what you need done.  And that is fine, but don't let it stop you from doing it the next day.  The first step is the most difficult and you don't want to keep doing that over and over again.  So take the step and keep a goin.  Then it will become a routine or habit that you do on a regular basis.  It is not easy, but it gets easier each time, guaranteed.
